Historically, there have been many outbreaks of viral diseases that have continued to claim millions of lives. Research on human-virus protein-protein interactions (PPIs) is vital to understanding the principles of human-virus relationships, providing an essential foundation for developing virus control strategies to combat diseases. The rapidly accumulating data on human-virus PPIs offer unprecedented opportunities for bioinformatics research around human-virus PPIs.
