The present thesis, based on the Chinese-English （C-E） parallel corpus of tourism and English comparable corpus of tourism, makes an exploration of the lexical features of C-E translations of tourism texts and C-E tourism translation. The study finds that, translated English tourism texts （TETT） and original English tourism texts （OETT） are very similar in their lexical difficulty, with the former＇ s lexical difficulty being slightly lower than the latter＇s, though there is no significant difference between them. Compared with OETT, TETT has a lower lexical variation and higher lexical repetition, and exhibits a lower lexical density and accordingly has a lower information load. The first and second person pronouns are used far less frequently in TETT than in OETT. In TETT, the introduction to natural landscapes （esp. mountains and rivers） accounts for a major part as compared with the introduction to city sights and tourism facilities which takes up an important part in OETT. In C-E tourism translation, the translator is supposed to pay special attention to the flexible use of common core verbs （e. g. take, get） as well as such nouns as ＂home＂ and such verbs as ＂offer. ＂ Besides, the expression ＂scenic spot＂ should not be regarded as an ideal equivalent for ＂景点＂--＂tourist spot＂, ＂travel spot＂ or ＂beauty spot＂ may be better equivalent for ＂景点＂ than ＂scenic spot.＂
