Low temperature preparation and visible light photocatalytic activity of mesoporous carbon-doped crystalline TiO2

摘要:
A visible-light-active TiO2 photocatalyst was prepared through carbon doping by using glucose as carbon source. Different from the previous carbon-doped TiO2 prepared at high temperature, our preparation was performed by a hydrothermal method at temperature as low as 160 °C. The resulting photocatalyst was characterized by XRD, XPS, TEM, nitrogen adsorption, and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The characterizations found that the photocatalyst possessed a homogeneous pore diameter about 8 nm and a high surface area of 126 m2/g. Comparing to undoped TiO2, the carbon-doped TiO2 showed obvious absorption in the 400-450 nm range with a red shift in the band gap transition. It was found that the resulting carbon-doped TiO2 exhibits significantly higher photocatalytic activity than the undoped counterpart and Degussa P25 on the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) in water under visible light irradiation (λ > 420 nm). This method can be easily scaled up for industrial production of visible-light driven photocatalyst for pollutants removal because of its convenience and energy-saving. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. 摘要:
Mesoporous TiO2 powder and films with worm-like channels were synthesized by an evaporation-induced self-assembly approach. The as-prepared samples were calcined at different temperature to investigate the effect of calcined temperature on the mesostructure and the photocatalytic activity. Acetaldehyde photodegradation in gas phase was employed to evaluate the photocatalytic activity of mesoporous TiO2. Results showed that all the calcined powder samples exhibited higher photocatalytic activities than that of Degussa P25. The sample calcined at 400°C, which showed higher activity than other samples, possessed a homogeneous pore diameter of about 6.0 nm and an 11.0 nm crystalline anatase pore wall, as well as large surface area of 117 m2/g. It was speculated that two factors of surface area and crystallinity affected the photocatalytic activity of mesoporous TiO2 photocatalyst. The mesoporous TiO2 films fabricated by spin-coating also had high photocatalytic activities. © 2007 Chinese Physical Society.

In this paper, a Bi2WO6 nanoplate film electrode was prepared by a hydrothermal method, combined with a spin coating technique. A photoelectrochemical (PEC) oxidation system based on this electrode was then constructed to degrade rhodamine B (RhB) in aqueous solution under visible light (λ > 420 nm). The PEC system based on Bi2WO6 nanoplate film electrode could degrade 87.2% of RhB with concentration of 5 mg/L in 120 min, operated at low voltage and under visible light irradiation, whereas only 36.8% and 39.5% degradation of RhB were observed for electro-oxidation process (EC) and photocatalytic oxidation process (PC), respectively, operated under the same condition. These results revealed a significant synergetic effect on degrading RhB via electro-oxidation and photocatalysis under visible light irradiation. A possible mechanism for this synergetic degradation of RhB was proposed on the basis of characterization results. Meanwhile, the degradation pathway of RhB during PEC under visible light irradiation was also discussed. This study provided an effective approach for aqueous organic pollutant removal by utilizing solar light.

In this study, Fe@Fe<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> core - shell nanowires were first used as a novel Fenton iron reagent. The nanowires were synthesized through the reduction of ferric chloride aqueous solution by sodium borohydride at ambient atmosphere, without protection of inert gases or vacuum. Rhodamine B (RhB) could be efficiently degraded in aqueous media by a novel sonochemical-assisted Fenton (sono-Fenton) system based on these Fe@Fe <inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> core-shell nanowires. The RhB degradation processes were monitored by UV-vis spectroscopy and total organic carbon (TOC) analysis. Fe@Fe<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> core-shell nanowires showed much higher activity in the sono-Fenton system than other iron reagents such as commercial zerovalent iron powders (Fe<sup>0</sup>), ferrous ions (Fe<sup>2+</sup>), and ferric ions (Fe<sup>3+</sup>). It was found that near 100% decoloration and over 60% TOC removal of RhB (5 mg·L<sup>-1</sup>) could be achieved in 60 min by this novel sono-Fenton system with 0.018 mol·L<sup>-1</sup> Fe@Fe <sup>2</sup>O<sup>3</sup> core-shell nanowires. This new iron reagents before and after the sono-Fenton reaction were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The characterizations found that the nanowires were transferred to nanotubes/nanoparticles covered with FeaOV Fe<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> after the sono-Fenton process. A possible mechanism of sono-Fenton degradation of RhB with Fe@Fe<inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> nanowires was proposed on the basis of the experimental results. It involved homogeneous Fenton and heterogeneous Fenton oxidative degradation simultaneously. The high activity of core-shell Fe@Fe <inf>2</inf>O<inf>3</inf> nanowires and the success of their mass production make them attractive for the treatment of organic pollutants in water. ©2007 American Chemical Society.

In this paper, we prepared TiO2@CdS core-shell nanorods films electrodes using a simple and low-cost chemical bath deposition method. The core-shell nanorods films electrodes were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and UV-vis spectrometry techniques. After applying these TiO2@CdS core-shell nanorods electrodes in photovoltaic cells, we found that the photocurrent was dramatically enhanced, comparing with those of bare TiO2 nanorods and US films electrodes. Moreover, TiO2@CdS core-shell nanorods film electrode showed better cell performance than US nanoparticles deposited TiO2 nanoparticles (P25) film electrode. A photocurrent of 1.31 mA/cm(2), a fill factor of 0.43, an open circuit photovoltage of 0.44 V, and a conversion efficiency of 0.8% were obtained under an illumination of 32 mW/cm(2), when the US nanoparticles deposited on TiO2 nanorods film for about 20 min. The maximum quantum efficiency of 5.0% was obtained at an incident wavelength of 500 rim. We believe that TiO2@CdS core-shell heterostructured nanorods are excellent candidates for studying some fundamental aspects on charge separation and transfer in the fields of photovoltaic cells and photocatalysis. <正>图1a,b,c表明Fe与铁的氧化物在ACF的纤维管的外壁上可以很好的分散。通过EDX的分析可以看到在炭纤维的细纤维上的颗粒物为铁单质和铁的氧化物。本实验室自制的铁可以很好催化降解有机物,2个小时的降解90%。明显高于商品还原铁粉的74.5%的降解效果(图2)。从图3中可以看出,自制的电极可以在pH较广泛的条件下使用。

A series of Ti<inf>1-x</inf>Zr<inf>x</inf>O<inf>2</inf> solid solutions photocatalysts (x = 0.000, 0.045, 0.090, 0.135, and 0.180) was directly obtained by an ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. Compared with previous methods for solid solutions, our preparation was very fast. The resulting samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, nitrogen adsorption, and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. The characterizations revealed core-shell spherical structures of the resulting solid solutions. We evaluated photocatalytic activities of the solid solutions on degradation of rhodamine B in aqueous solution under simulated solar light. It was found that Ti<inf>0.91</inf>Zr<inf>0.09</inf>O<inf>2</inf> solid solution exhibited the highest photocatalytic activity among all the as-prepared samples. Its activity was much higher than that of P25. The formation mechanism of core-shell spherical structures was proposed. Moreover, we successfully extended this method to prepare microspheres of ceria and ceria-zirconia solid solutions. We think this general method may be easily scaled up for industrial production of microspherical solid solutions photocatalysts and catalysts. ©2006 American Chemical Society.

为了更好地利用占太阳光43﹪的可见光,设计和发展有效的可见光光催化剂有着重要的学术和应用意义.近年研究表明,一些复合金属氧化物催化剂,如InMO4(M=Nb,Ta,V),MIn2O4(M=Ca,Sr,Ba)等具有可见光响应性能,它们在可见光激发下,能够降解气相氯仿、甲醛和水相中染料类等污染物质.BiVO4就是这些复合金属氧化物光催化剂中的一种,它在光解水和降解矿化有机污染物等方面得到了一些应用,但是它的光催化性能受其晶型的影响.它主要有三种晶型:zircon-tetragonal(z-t),scheelite-monoclinic(s-m)和scheelite-tetragonal(s-t).其中,单斜相(monoclinic)的BiVO4有较强的光催化活性,而四方相(tetragonal)的BiVO4几乎没有.BiVO4的合成方法有多种,单斜相的BiVO4通常采用高温固相合成,而四方相的BiVO4是低温液相合成.本文用一种简单的方法选择性合成了不同晶型的BiVO4,并在可见光降解亚甲基蓝(MB)的基础上讨论了它们的光催化活性。

Synthesis of V3 O7 ·H2 O nanobelts as cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries

In this paper, we report a simple method to synthesize V<inf>3</inf>O <inf>7</inf>·H<inf>2</inf>O nanobelts via hydrothermal treatment of commercial V<inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf> powder at relatively low temperatures. The synthetic process is free of any templates and reducing agents. The influences of reaction time and temperature on the morphologies of the resulting products have been investigated. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and charge-discharge test. SEM and TEM analyses reveal that the products consist of a large quantity of belt-like nanostructures and the belts are 100-500 nm in width and several tens to several hundreds micrometers in length as well as about 20 nm in average thickness. The electrochemical test found that the nanobelts exhibited an initial high discharge specific capacity of 253.0 mAh/g in the potential range of 3.8-1.7 V and its stabilized capacity still remained 228.6 mAh/g after 50 cycles. All these results indicate that the resulting V<inf>3</inf>O <inf>7</inf>·H<inf>2</inf>O nanobelts are promising cathode materials in lithium-ion batteries. ©2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Monodispersed porous crystalline TiO<inf>2</inf>, SrTiO<inf>3</inf>, and BaTiO<inf>3</inf> spheres were produced through a one-step hydrothermal process from amorphous TiO<inf>2</inf> spheres. The resulting samples were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and nitrogen sorption measurements. On the basis of the characterization results, we proposed a formation process of these porous spheres according to a mechanism analogous to the Kirkendall effect. This study provides a general way to synthesize porous titania-based spheres. ©2006 American Chemical Society.

In this paper, we prepared the nanocrystalline US films on the indium-doped tin oxide (ITO) glass substrates using a doctor-blade technique. The source US powder was first prepared by a hydrothermal method and then ground into a screen-printing paste by adding ethyl cellulose as a binder and terpineol as a solvent. The CdS samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy. A photocurrent of 3.51 mA/cm, a fill factor of 0.44, an open circuit photovoltage of 0.50 V, and a conversion efficiency of 2.2% were obtained under a simulated solar illumination of 35 mW/cm(2), when the CdS film was annealed at 380 degrees C in air for 30 min. The maximum quantum efficiency of 5.5% was obtained at an incident wavelength of 500 nm. Our method provides a general way to prepare electrodes of metal chalcogenide nanocrystalline films. Various nanostructured films of copper and silver tellurides were hydrothermally grown on the corresponding metal substrates through reactions between metal foils and tellurium powder in different media. Interesting morphologies including nanowires, nanorods, nanobelts, nanosheets, and hierarchical dendrites were obtained. The nanostructured films were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and high-resolution TEM (HRTEM). A growth mechanism was proposed based on the characterization results. 摘要:
20世纪80年代后期,光催化氧化技术开始应用于环保领域,以降解不可生化处理的有机污染物.光电催化处理技术是利用外加电压(电流)的方法减少电子与光致空穴的简单复合,从而提高光催化的效率.电极作为催化剂的负载体,有利于催化剂的回收和重复利用.本文通过以ITO玻璃为基体制备了一种负载型的Bi2WO6电极,具有良好的光电催化效果.通过电化学的循环伏安和交流阻抗的分析,得出光电催化降解RhB过程中光与电之间存在协同催化的作用。

Ⅱ-Ⅵ族半导体材料CdS薄膜因其对可见光敏感,是一种重要的光敏半导体,被广泛应用于光电子学领域.在光伏转换方面,CdS作为直接能隙半导体,其带隙约为2.42 eV,是一种良好的窗口层材料和过渡层材料,在太阳能电池、传感器、光探测器、激光材料、光波导器件和非线性集成光学器件等领域具有广阔的应用前景.CdS薄膜的制备方法主要有真空热蒸发、溅射、激光蒸发、电沉积和化学沉积等等.本文将水热方法和传统的doctor-blade技术相结合制备了CdS纳米晶薄膜,并研究了不同的煅烧温度对CdS薄膜电极光电性能的影响,从而找出最佳的实验条件。

Spring-like superstructures consisting of layered tin(IV) hydrogen phosphate nanodisks can be obtained via a one-pot solvothermal reaction of tin tetrachloride and phosphoric acid in ethanol. These superstructures are active anode materials for the lithium-ion battery.

摘要:
Deactivated silver-coated TiO2 photocatalyst can be easily reactivated by ambient light illumination. The process converts Ag0 to Ag(I) in the form of Ag2O. When the activated catalyst is used in photocatalysis, Ag(I) would be eventually reduced to Ag0 forming fresh non-aggregated silver nanoparticles on TiO2. The presence of some transitory Ag+ ions during photocatalysis can help to oxidize species adsorbed on the catalyst and regenerate a clean surface. This simple approach should be very useful for designing maintenance-free photocatalytic air purification systems. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

摘要:
Lead iodide (PbI2) films composed of single crystals with regular hexagonal microstructures have been in situ fabricated on lead foils through a one-step solution-phase chemical route under solvothermal conditions. X-Ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were employed to characterize the resulting PbI2 crystals. The orientation of the hexagonal planes can be controlled via the adjustment of the concentration of iodine and the types of solvents. It is expected to be a simple way for in situ fabricating PbI2 crystals/films for future utilizing in radiation detection.

Hierarchical porous iron oxide films with different morphologies have for the first time been fabricated through hydrothermal reactions between an iron substrate and iodine powder in water or ethanol, which can be explained by a mechanism analogous to the Kirkendall effect.
