Resonant structures in the dipion mass spectrum from & chi;c1(3872) & RARR; & pi;+& pi;-J=& psi; decays, produced via B+ & RARR; K+& chi;c1(3872) decays, are analyzed using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb-1. A sizeable contribution from the isospin conserving & chi;c1(3872) & RARR; & omega;J=& psi; decay is established for the first time, (21.4 & PLUSMN; 2.3 & PLUSMN; 2.0)%, with a significance of more than 7.1 & sigma;. The amplitude of isospin violating decay, & chi;c1(3872) & RARR; & rho;0J=& psi;, relative to isospin conserving decay, & chi;c1(3872) & RARR; & omega;J=& psi;, is properly determined, and it is a factor of 6 larger than expected for a pure charmonium state.

摘要:
The nuclear modification factor of neutral pions is measured in proton-lead collisions collected at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon of 8.16TeV with the LHCb detector. The π^{0} production cross section is measured differentially in transverse momentum (p_{T}) for 1.5<p_{T}<10.0 GeV and in center-of-mass pseudorapidity (η_{c.m.}) regions 2.5<η_{c.m.}<3.5 (forward) and -4.0<η_{c.m.}<-3.0 (backward) defined relative to the proton beam direction. The forward measurement shows a sizable suppression of π^{0} production, while the backward measurement shows the first evidence of π^{0} enhancement in proton-lead collisions at the LHC. Together, these measurements provide precise constraints on models of nuclear structure and particle production in high-energy nuclear collisions.

A search for CP and P violation in charmless four-body B-0 -> p (p) over barK(+)pi(-) decays is performed using triple-product asymmetry observables. It is based on proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 8.4 fb(-1). The CP- and P-violating asymmetries are measured both in the integrated phase space and in specific regions. No evidence is seen for CP violation. P-parity violation is observed at a significance of 5.8 standard deviations.

Measurements of CP asymmetries in charmless three-body decays of B-+/- mesons are reported using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.9 fb(-1). The previously observed CP asymmetry in B-+/- -> pi(K+K-)-K-+/- decays is confirmed, and CP asymmetries are observed with a significance of more than five standard deviations in the B-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(+)pi and B-+/- -> (KK+K-)-K-+/- decays, while the CP asymmetry of B-+/- -> K-+/-pi(+)pi(-) decays is confirmed to be compatible with zero. The distributions of these asymmetries are also studied as a function of the three-body phase space and suggest contributions from rescattering and resonance interference processes. An indication of the presence of the decays B+ -> pi(+) chi(c0) (1P) in both B+ ->pi(+)pi(+)pi and B+ ->pi+K+K- decays is observed, as is CP violation involving these amplitudes.

A search for the rare hadronic decay B-s(0) -> p (p) over bar is performed using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb(-1). No evidence of the decay is found and an upper limit on its branching fraction is set at B(B-s(0) -> p (p) over bar) < 4.4(5.1)x 10(-9) at 90% (95%) confidence level; this is currently the world's best upper limit. The decay mode B-0 -> p<(p)over bar> is measured with very large significance, confirming the first observation by the LHCb experiment in 2017. The branching fraction is determined to be B(B-0 -> p (p) over bar) = (1.27 +/- 0.15 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.04) 10(-8), where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic and the third is due to the external branching fraction of the normalization channel B-0 -> K+pi(-). The combination of the two LHCb measurements of the B-0 -> p (p) over bar branching fraction yields B(B-0 -> p (p) over bar) (1.27 +/- 0.13 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.03) x 10(-8).

The production rate of B_{s}^{0} mesons relative to B^{0} mesons is measured by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy sqrt[s]=13 TeV over the forward rapidity interval 2<y<4.5 as a function of the charged particle multiplicity measured in the event. Evidence at the 3.4σ level is found for an increase of the ratio of B_{s}^{0} to B^{0} cross sections with multiplicity at transverse momenta below 6 GeV/c, with no significant multiplicity dependence at higher transverse momentum. Comparison with data from e^{+}e^{-} collisions implies that the density of the hadronic medium may affect the production rates of B mesons. This is qualitatively consistent with the emergence of quark coalescence as an additional hadronization mechanism in high-multiplicity collisions.

Measurements of CP asymmetry in charmless B -> PV decays are presented, where P and V denote a pseudoscalar and a vector meson, respectively. Five different B -> PV decays from four final states, B-+/- -> pi(+/-)pi(+) pi(-), B-+/- -> K-+/-pi(+) pi(-), B-+/-->(KK+K-)-K-+/- and B-+/- -> pi(K+K-)-K-+/- are analyzed. The measurements are based on a method that does not require full amplitude analyses, and are performed using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by LHCb between 2015 and 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.9 fb(-1). In the pi(+) pi(-) P-wave, in the region dominated by the B-+/- -> rho(770)K-0(+/-) decay, a CP asymmetry of A(CP) = +0.150 +/- 0.019 +/- 0.011 is measured, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This is the first observation of CP violation in this process. For the other four decay channels, in regions dominated by the B-+/- -> rho(770)(0)pi(+/-), B-+/- -> K(-)*(892)(0) pi(+/-), B-+/- -> K(-)* (892)K-+/- and B-+/- -> (sic)(1020) K-+/- decays, CP asymmetries in the P-wave compatible with zero are measured.

An amplitude analysis of A+c - pK- & pi;+ decays together with a measurement of the A+c polarization vector in semiOleptonic beauty hadron decays is presented. A sample of 400 000 candidates is selected from proton-proton collisions recorded by the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. An amplitude model is developed and the resonance fractions as well as two- and three-body decay parameters are reported. The mass and width of the Ao2000 thorn state are also determined. A significant A+c polarization is found. A large sensitivity of the A+c - pK-& pi;+ decay to the polarization is seen, making the amplitude model suitable for A+c polarization measurements in other systems.

<jats:title>A<jats:sc>bstract</jats:sc></jats:title><jats:p>A precision measurement of the<jats:italic>Z</jats:italic>boson production cross-section at<jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ \sqrt{\mathrm{s}} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mml:msqrt><mml:mi>s</mml:mi></mml:msqrt></mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula>= 13 TeV in the forward region is presented, using<jats:italic>pp</jats:italic>collision data collected by the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.1 fb<jats:sup><jats:italic>−</jats:italic>1</jats:sup>. The production cross-section is measured using<jats:italic>Z → μ</jats:italic><jats:sup>+</jats:sup><jats:italic>μ</jats:italic><jats:sup><jats:italic>−</jats:italic></jats:sup>events within the fiducial region defined as pseudorapidity 2<jats:italic>.</jats:italic>0<jats:italic>< η <</jats:italic>4<jats:italic>.</jats:italic>5 and transverse momentum<jats:italic>p</jats:italic><jats:sub>T</jats:sub><jats:italic>></jats:italic>20 GeV<jats:italic>/c</jats:italic>for both muons and dimuon invariant mass 60<jats:italic>< M</jats:italic><jats:sub><jats:italic>μμ</jats:italic></jats:sub><jats:italic><</jats:italic>120 GeV<jats:italic>/c</jats:italic><jats:sup>2</jats:sup>. </mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula><jats:italic>π</jats:italic><jats:sup>+</jats:sup> decays produced in proton–proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The oscillation frequency is found to be Δ<jats:italic>m</jats:italic><jats:sub>s</jats:sub> = 17.7683 ± 0.0051 ± 0.0032 ps<jats:sup>−1</jats:sup>, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. This measurement improves on the current Δ<jats:italic>m</jats:italic><jats:sub>s</jats:sub> precision by a factor of two. We combine this result with previous LHCb measurements to determine Δ<jats:italic>m</jats:italic><jats:sub>s</jats:sub> = 17.7656 ± 0.0057 ps<jats:sup>−1</jats:sup>, which is the legacy measurement of the original LHCb detector.</jats:p>

摘要:
The photoproduction of J/ψ mesons at low transverse momentum is studied in peripheral lead-lead collisions collected by the LHCb Collaboration at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 5TeV , corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 210 μb−1 . The J/ψ candidates are reconstructed through the prompt decay into two muons of opposite charge in the rapidity region of 2.0<y<4.5 . The results significantly improve previous measurements and are compared to the latest theoretical prediction.

</jats:title><jats:p>The differential cross-section of prompt inclusive production of long-lived charged particles in proton-proton collisions is measured using a data sample recorded by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of <jats:inline-formula><jats:alternatives><jats:tex-math>$$ \sqrt{s} $$</jats:tex-math><mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML">

</mml:math></jats:alternatives></jats:inline-formula> = 13 TeV. The data sample, collected with an unbiased trigger, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5<jats:italic>.</jats:italic>4 nb<jats:sup><jats:italic>−</jats:italic>1</jats:sup>. The differential cross-section is measured as a function of transverse momentum and pseudorapidity in the ranges <jats:italic>p</jats:italic><jats:sub>T</jats:sub> ∈ [80<jats:italic>,</jats:italic> 10 000) MeV<jats:italic>/c</jats:italic> and <jats:italic>η</jats:italic> ∈ [2<jats:italic>.</jats:italic>0<jats:italic>,</jats:italic> 4<jats:italic>.</jats:italic>8) and is determined separately for positively and negatively charged particles. The results are compared with predictions from various hadronic-interaction models.</jats:p>
