In order to simplify the complicated sdg interacting boson model (IBM) Hamiltonian, a microscopic approach based on the Dyson boson mapping and the MJS substitution was presented, and the leading terms in the interaction Hamiltonian were discussed by using numerical investigation. Comparisons of both the calculated levels and the overlap of wave functions between the exact results and the approximations were made to find out negligible part in the Hamiltonian.
