The development of an innovative teaching force is highly related to talent cultivation and educational modernization. However, few studies have explored how to build an innovative teaching team by empowering teachers through distributed leadership. Based on TALIS 2018 data for teachers in Shanghai, China, this study explores the influence of distributed leadership on teacher innovation in an Asian context.
