A method for extracting the Levy stability index μ from the multi-fractal spectrum f(α) in high energy multiparticle production is proposed. This index is an important parameter, characterizing the non-linear behaviour of dynamical fluctuations in high energy collisions. Using the random cascading α model as an example, the validity of this method is tested.
