A Study of Humorous Utterances from the Perspective of Relevance Theory

作者从语用的角度研究幽默言语.首先概括了有关幽默机制的理论,然后将其与语用学理论结合起来作实例分析.作者发现这是研究幽默生成与幽默理解的较好的一种方法.最后作者得出结论:幽默语言研究是一个语用的问题,在理解幽默的过程中,听话者必须注意幽默表达的思想而不是幽默表现的技巧,并且只有将其视作一种言语交际才能还幽默以真面目.

In the present article, the author first adopts one of the theories of humour mechanism, then brings examples into the scope of pragmatics, especially into the scope of the principle of relevance, for analysi s.
