A Comparative Study of Starting-point Prepositions in Chinese and English

文章在位移事件框架下重点考察汉英语中空间起点介词如何标记题元角色。介词的标记能力是句子各个构成部分共同作用的结果,但是作用的因子在汉英语中表现出差异。英语中介词from、out of、off受制于背景名词的空间特征。汉语中"从"标记起点时动词结构具有[+位移]义;宾语在句子中具有[+原点]义,介词宾语句法表现不同于英语,与介词的类型强制能力有关。此外,介词"从"是起点与路径的共同标记,这是其语法化的结果。

The paper focuses on the study of the starting-point prepositions in Chinese and English. The markedness of prepositions is the result of all compositions in the sentences but there are differences between Chinese prepositions and English prepositions. The English prepositions like ＂from, out of, off＂ are under the influence of the spatial features of the related nouns while the Chinese preposition ＂cong＂ indicates the movement and has the features of stating-point a...
