北京政府时期大总统袁世凯的月工资,与同时期其他官员相比遥遥领先,这其中包括铁路局局长、海军舰队司令、外交大使、大理院院长、国务总理等;与农民相比,大总统的月收入可抵得农民777亩地的年收入;与同时期国外元首的年开支相比,也高于美国、法国、日本。袁世凯的工资支出水平严重脱离中国社会经济发展水平。

Yuan Shikai, President of the Beijing Government, had a very high monthly salary than the other officials,including director of the railway, navy admiral, diplomatic ambassadors, Dali Court dean, prime minister of state.
