p-nitrophenol (PNP) are an important and common environmental pollutants. In this study, Pseudomonas aeruginosa HS-D38 strain was selected to degrade PNP, and the degradation characteristics were investigated. Results showed that HS-D38 could use PNP as the sole carbon, nitrogen and energy source, and the degradation conditions including temperature, pH and initial concentration of PNP were optimized.The optimal temperature of PNP degradation was at 35degC,and in the range of pH 6.0-7.0, HS-D38 strain grew well and PNP could be efficiently degraded.
