中国科幻电影，在工业体系建设和科幻思维开拓上还有一定的不足，而于能源对象的表现上却显现出较为清晰的历时逻辑。在物质相对匮乏的现代化建设初期，支撑多方面生产发展的能源，为文艺创作者畅想美好未来提供了通道；受20世纪90年代的环保热潮影响，破坏生态的能源加工厂，一度成为批判话语聚焦的对象；进入21世纪后，新能源产业的快速发展，成为电影传递科学人文主义精神的现实基础。尽管银幕上能源符号的社会所指不断变迁，然而电影呈现能源的思维倾向还是颇为单一，这揭示出中国科幻电影发展乏力的部分原因，未来的国产科幻作品势必呼唤更多批判性思考的加入。
