孙子的诚信观是以将帅为本位,要求将帅注重信誉,君主信任将帅,部属信从将帅。基于这一诚信观,孙子阐释了将帅的品德及其与君主、部属的关系,把'信'放在'五德'第二的位置,介于'智''仁'之间,表明对诚信的高度重视。而在战争指导方面,孙子有所谓'兵者诡道''兵以诈立'之说,作为军事谋略的重要原则。这种诚信与诡诈并存的现象,体现出军事实践的基本特征。

Sun Zi's outlook on credibility takes the high-ranking military officers as the standard and requires that the high-ranking military officers should attach great importance to credibility; the monarch should trust the high-ranking military officers; and the subordinates should trust and follow the high-ranking military officers.Based on this outlook on integrity, Sun Zi interprets the relationship between the ethics of the high-ranking military officers and the monarch and their subordinates.
