2005年7—9月，通过野外样线调查、座谈访问、历史资源收集，对薤山自然保护区珍稀濒危野生脊椎动物进行调查，结果为保护区分布有珍稀濒危野生脊椎动物72种，占保护区脊椎动物246种的29．27％，其中兽类21种、鸟类38种、爬行类9种、两栖类4种．国家重点保护野生动物53种，中国濒危动物红皮书物种38种，国际贸易公约濒危野生动物56种．

The investigation on rare ＆ endangered wild vertebrate in Xieshan nature reserve during July-September 2005 by means of sampling survey, interview, historical data collection revealed that there distributed 74 species of rare ＆ endangered wild vertebrate, accounting for 29.27 % of 246 species of vertebrate in the reserve, in which there were 21 species of beast, 38 of bird, 9 of reptile, 4 of amphibian.
