In this study lambda-Al2O3 was selected as the carrier and toluene was taken as the biomass tar model compounds in order to evaluate the thermal cracking reaction of toluene at different reaction temperatures (800 degrees C, 850 degrees C and 900 degrees C). The composition and content changes of individual species helped to understand the mechanisms during the thermal cracking reaction.
