In the title compound, [Cd(C2H4O2)(C12H8N2)2]ClO4·H2O, the Cu II ion is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry with normal Cd - O and Cd - N bond lengths. The cation and anion both lie on crystallographic twofold axes. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O - H⋯O hydrogen bonds form one-dimensional chains along [100] and in addition weak π-π stacking inter-actions connect mol-ecules along [001].
