With the proliferation of computer graphics and computer animations, 3D models are as plentiful as images and video. This has made the retrieval for specific 3D models become a vital issue. And now, content-based retrieval of 3D models has therefore become an essential research topic. In this paper, we describe a simple, faster and effective method for 3D shape indexing, and an enhanced feature, called silhouette descriptor, is proposed for 3D models retrieval.
