湖北土陶器物装饰中有大量以表达生命为主题的纹饰,它们的造型多样、意念丰富,立题天真、表达稚趣,这些充满生命张力的形象,体现出民众对美好幸福生活的向往和追求。本文从人类的生存、婚恋、繁衍到富足、吉祥、长寿以及灵魂不死不灭的渴望和追求中,看湖北土陶是如何利用纹饰表达楚人从物质到精神的追求,如何把对生命的崇拜、向往和尊重寄托在日常朴素的器物之上。
