以第三学期制为背景,分析了GIS专业学科特点,结合华中师范大学地理信息科学专业实际,全面介绍了GIS专业第三学期的培养目标、培养内容、教学过程以及已取得的效果,提出了将理论与实践、大学生科研立项、学科竞赛、GIS不同类型课程进行融合的第三学期培养模式,为高校培养适应行业需求的GIS专业人才提供参考。
