运用历史考证与分析的方法，以档案、信札等一手史料为基础，结合报纸、期刊、书籍等相关文献，对中国参与1924年巴黎奥运会这一历史事件进行考证。通过分析认为远东体育委员会名誉书记葛雷在中国参与1924年巴黎奥运会过程中发挥主导作用，他1924年以远东体育委员会为官方组织成功为中国网球选手韦荣洛、邱飞海、吴仕章、吴仕光4人报名。后因网球运动员个人原因，未能成行赴巴黎参赛。葛雷所主导的中国参与1924年巴黎奥运会，客观上促进了中国与奥运会的联系，推动中国体育走向并融入世界体育舞台的进程。同时，中国参与1924年巴黎奥运会的整个过程，也折射了当时中国体育所面临的体育赛事组织和...
