Both the title mol-ecular adducts of 2-methyl-aniline or 2,5-dichloro-aniline with picric acid are 1:1 organic salts, namely 2-methyl-anilinium picrate, C7H10N+· C6H2N3O7 -, (I), and 2,5-dichloro-anilinium picrate, C6H6Cl2N +·C6H2N3O7 -, (II).
