By comparing the English translations of Jiuge by Stephen Owen and XU Yuanchong, this paper explores the similarities and differences of the two translators＇ hermeneutic action and communicative action, and studies the importance of cultural self- consciousness in the subjectivity hermeneutic action and intersubjectivity communica- tive action of English translation of classics.
