Anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) of high molecular weight was prepared. The optimal conditions were found as follows: the concentrations of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid, initiator, isopropanol and acrylamide were 0. 1 mg/L, 22-24 mg/L, 35 μg/L and 24%-28%, respectively, reaction temperature 24 - 26°C , pH = 10.
