A new method for determining nitrite is proposed. The mechanism for the polarographic waves and the condition for determining nitrite are discussed in this paper. In cathodic sweeps, the peak height is directly proportional to the concentration of nitrite over the range 5x10-9-6×10-7g/ml, the detection limit is x10“g/ml.
