The formation process of ZnO/ZnS core/shell microcomposites and ZnS microspindles prepared by the reaction of ZnO colloids and thioacetamide under hydrothermal conditions was investigated in detail by Xray powder diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy , transmission electron microscopy and selected-area electron diffraction techniques.
