Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a global health issue. Peroxynitrite and liver viscosity have recently been found to be potential biomarkers of NAFLD. Therefore, it is of great significance to develop dual-response fluorescent probes for simultaneous detecting peroxynitrite and viscosity. We report herein a new probe (CQ) that can simultaneously detect peroxynitrite and viscosity at two independent fluorescent channels without signal crosstalk.
