2004年4月荆州黄山墓地M576出土竹简81枚、木觚9枚。其中竹简包括质日简57枚，遣册简24枚。通过对这批竹简中质日内容的分析，能够了解秦代相关地理信息；结合遣册记载与墓葬中陪葬品，则有利于探究当时的丧葬礼俗。9枚木觚均是单面书有文字，经初步研究，其内容属于裁判文书，对研究秦代司法制度有一定的参考价值。
