邓初民是最早在中国传播马克思主义的先驱之一。他对马克思主义和唯物史观基本问题的认识反映 了当时中国马克思主义史学在理论上的发展水平,他对历史法则一般性与特殊性的理解促进了马克思主义唯 物史观与中国历史研究的结合,开辟了中国社会史研究的新领域。而他的教育实践则将马克思主义与唯物史 观播之于众,践行了他所执着的中国马克思主义史家的历史使命。
