In China, the research on African literature can be dated back to the 1960s. Recently, a series of influential monographs have been produced on case study. Nonetheless, gaps need to be filled on general studies and national literature studies. On the basis of bibliographical studies and data analysis, this article deals with the development of African literature studies in China.
