Hitherto, the origin of the art of glass-making in China has remained controversial. Through the examination of glass- and faience-making, metallurgy, and the origin of glass-making as well as glass eye beads, this paper concludes that the true origin of glass-making was introduced to China along with imported glass eye beads.
