Cyanophage PP is distributed widely in freshwater and may play an important role in freshwater microbial loops. Solar ultraviolet radiation is one of the main factors causing cyanophage decay. Photoreactivation and dark repair are the two mechanisms of viral reactivation. This study examined Weigle reactivation of cyanophage PP under both red and white light.
