Erythrocyte-like hierarchical α-Fe2O3/Bi2WO6nanocomposites were synthesized by a simple and convenient hydrothermal method. The composites were assembled from α-Fe2O3/Bi2WO6nanoplates. The structures of α-Fe2O3/Bi2WO6nanocomposites were characterized by XRD, TEM, BET and gas sensing properties toward xylene were investigated in detailed.
