A bioinspired soft elastic metamaterial with a size equivalent to the current cochlear implant that can be seen as a prototype of passive artificial cochlea with a frequency resolution of 30 Hz is proposed. This work will inspire future work in the fabrication of totally implantable passive artificial cochlea that enables the users to hear naturally.
