We raise for the first time the highly important question that the hadronization of partons one by one as assumed in current models for crossover in QCD, contradicts color confinement. A possible mechanism - molecule-like hadron aggregation - is proposed for crossover compatible with color confinement. A toy model to realize this mechanism is constructed.
