Considerable attention has been paid to the variation of soil organic carbon (SOC) storage along a temperature gradient. However, the results varied across studies. This inconsistence could be associated with the interference of the precipitation effect. To minimize the interference, this study collected soil samples over broad geographical scale along the 400 mm isohyet in China.
