Taking Futouhu which is the forth largest lake in Hubei Province as the study object, based on RS and GIS technologies, using the Landsat TM remote sensing images in 1991 and in 2005 as well as local chronicles as basic data resources, combined with field surveys and GPS positioning, the data on the dynamic changes of the area and the types of Futouhu wetland from 1991 to 2005 were obtained, and then the driving forces of these changes were analyzed.
