In the title three-dimensional tetra-zolate-based coordination polymer, poly[bis-(μ3-cyanido-κ3 N:C:C)[μ5- 5-(pyridin-4-yl)tetrazolato-κ5 N:N':N″:N‴: N′‴]tricopper(I)], [Cu3(C6H4N 5)(CN)2]n, there are two types of coordinated CuI atoms. One type exhibits a tetra-hedral environment and the other, residing on a twofold axis, adopts a trigonal coordination environment.
