With a study of Jin Xiangfang's work 'Historical Place Names', this paper considers that 'the Geographical Map of the Tribute of Yu in 18 Sheets' was the result on-the-spot and an atlas of the time. This atlas is in all probability 'An Atlas of the Jin Dynasty' which was compiled and drawn by Jin Xiangfang. In his 'Historical Place Names' there is a comprehensive and accurate exposition of the six principles of map making.
