The traditional ecological footprint model is found poorly applicable in the ecological sustainability assessment of regional land utilization. This paper designs a “consumption-output” ecological footprint model and establishes the standard for judging the ecological sustainability of regional land utilization with the sustainable ecological deficit of land as the assessment indicator.
