Increasing importance has been attached to genres in English academic writing instruction in recent years.This study puts forward a six-step Genre-Based Instruction( GBI) approach( deconstructing,modeling,identifying,imitating,peer reviewing and independent writing),and adopts it to teach academic writing of literature reviews to junior English majors.
