Graphical Abstract Analysis of the intestinal bacterial community composition of Hermetia illucens (black soldier fly, BSF) larvae (BSFL) with pyrosequencing showed that the dynamics of bacterial community composition among different larval instars were striking at the genus level. Klebsiella, Clostridium, Providencia, Dysgonomonas, Dysgonomonas, and Providencia were the relatively most abundant bacterial groups in the 1st‐ to 6th‐instar BSFL, respectively.
