A diiron(III) complex, [Fe-2(IDB)(2)(mu-O)(mu-OAc)(2)]Cl-2. CH3OH, in which IDB is N,N-di(2-benzimidazolylmethyl)imine, has been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffractometry and spectrometry. The compound crystallizes in the space group C2/C with a = 23.700(5), b = 20.690 (5), c = 17.721 (9) Angstrom, beta = 111.19(4)degrees, V = 8101.7(7) Angstrom(3) Z = 8 and is solved for 3120 reflections with I > 4.0 sigma(I), giving final R = 0.09840 and Rw = 0.11914.
