An energy-conserving protocol of routing is critical to a wireless sensor network (WSN) because of limited energy supply and communication capabilities of wireless sensor nodes. LEACH protocol has been widely used, which is based on a homogeneous network without considering most heterogeneous sensor networks in practical application.
