High-performance blue light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs) have remained a formidable challenge. Ionic donor–acceptor molecules, especially those featuring thermally-activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), are promising hosts for developing high-performance blue LECs, but such hosts have remained undeveloped.
