Inheritance of `HL' type cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) and its fertility restoration in rice (Oryza sativa L.) was studied using pollen fertility and seed setting rate as criteria of fertility. By utilizing `HL' type CMS line Congguang41A in combination with four restorers, the following generations: P1, P2, F1 (A×R), BC1 (F1×B), BC2 (A×F1), F2 were obtained.
