诺贝尔文学奖得主、美国犹太作家索尔·贝娄的中篇小说《贝拉罗莎暗道》以二战大屠杀为背景，通过方斯坦、比利和“我”的多线原型叙事呈现充满张力的犹太移民处境与民族身份认同启示。方斯坦从罗马集中营逃往美国是出埃及记的当代再现。作为现代摩西的犹太难民拯救者比利却在美国主流文化的影响下丧失犹太人的集体身份认同，未能带领犹太移民找到信仰归宿。以约伯为原型的方斯坦在苦难考验中坚持犹太信仰，继承摩西身份，却未完成代际记忆与集体记忆的传递。而“我”由痴迷储存记忆转而关注犹太民族的功能记忆，完成新一代摩西的转变。小说勾勒了当代犹太移民群体在新流散境遇中身份认同的现实...
