县域城乡义务教育，是我国教育的重要组成部分。我国义务教育的“城镇化”主要是依靠县域一层的“县镇化”支撑，大量的中小学学生，尤其是初中生主要集中在县镇上学。因此，要深入推进义务教育均衡发展、促进基本公共教育均等化，缩小城乡教育差距，必须努力办好县域城乡义务教育。本文结合我们对全国部分省（市、区）的调查，就上述问题进行了深入分析，认为我国县域城乡义务教育发展的根本问题在于两极分化现象严重，而长期存在的城市优先发展战略是导致县域城乡义务教育两极分化的深层原因，解决问题的关键在于统筹推进县域内城乡义务教育一体化。

Urban and rural compulsory education in county areas is an important part of Chinese education. Most of primary and middle school students are going to county schools.
