Abstract Three novel trinuclear gold(I) complexes have been designed and synthesized. These gold(I) complexes exhibit aggregation-induced emission characteristics. Furthermore, the photoluminescence properties of these luminogens show off-on green fluorescence in response to mechanical grinding.
