Plantation succession in the reach of Changjiang River can be divided into twelve stages since Gunz glacial period in the light of a great deal of palynologieal information. Spore-pollen communities reflect the paleoelimate and paleoenvironment of four glacial, three interglacial and a postglacial periods (the last period including five climate stages).
