1929年7月初,无锡县国民救国会因查扣日货事件与地方商人发生所谓救国会被捣毁风潮。救国会呈控地方商民大肆捣毁救国会,抢走被扣押之日货。据此,无锡县政府先后拘押两名地方商人。为营救俩人以及反对救国会查货,在***无果的情形下,无锡地方十三业宣布总罢市。最终,在无锡商会的调处下,无锡县政府答应了大部分***要求,罢市风潮得以平息。本文据有关资料,通过无锡国民救国会被捣毁风潮的梳理,揭示了反日运动中地方商民与国民救国会之间的矛盾冲突;而且通过对商会调处的分析,亦展现了在复杂背景下商会功能的实践。

In the early July, during the organization for saving the nation of Wuxi checking and detaining merchandises, a strife happened between the organization and the local merchants. The organization claimed its office was destroyed by merchants. When two merchants were arrested by the county government, the merchants of thirteen trades began to strike after several failed pleas.
